Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

I photographed this rare white stag late one afternoon in a field by Stoborough heath, very close to Arne RSPB reserve in Wareham, Dorset, in the south of England, UK. Arne is a beautiful coastal nature reserve of heathland, woodland and even a beach where a herd of sika deer roam wild, other native deer species can also be seen in smaller numbers. Some of these deer can also be seen in the surrounding areas in smaller numbers as photographed here, this stag was part of a herd of sika deer.
Sika deer (Cervus nippon), spotted deer or Japanese deer is a deer species native to East Asia which has been introduced to many parts of the world, including England. Sika deer do not loose their spots upon reaching maturity, but in some subspecies these spots are rarely visible, as shown in my photo. Their coat ranged from a reddish brown to black and occasionally individuals can be found with white fur. Stags have...
