Description
Photographic artwork by Cindy Treger. Photographed near Lake Meade, East Berlin, PA. The Snowberry Clearwing (Hermaris diffinis) belongs to the Sphinx moth family. You can see his clear wings with the brown border and his olive green body as he hovers over a white butterfly bush flower. The flared tail identifies it as a male. These are amazing little creatures only about an inch long, with some being an inch and a half!

Excellent images of these hummingbird moths, all of them better than I've been able to do.
